CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Virginia Senator Tim Kaine visited UVA on Wednesday for a meet-and-greet with College Democrats.
UVA was one of the five stops this week for Kaine's campaign. He not only talked about his agenda but also about Kamala Harris and Tim Walz's campaigns.
Kaine said that now that colleges are back, it's a good time to talk to younger voters about their impact in the presidential race this upcoming November. He emphasized that engagement is the most important thing right now.
“I’ve now been in every part of the state, particularly during the month of August, since the decision was made by President Biden. There is a sense of energy and excitement that I wasn’t seeing before,” said Kaine.
Kaine also pushed his stance on abortion rights, climate change, and a ceasefire in Gaza, saying that these are all significant issues not only for himself and his campaign but also for the race for the White House.
