Prince William police crime scene technicians are searching the home where a Nokesville man lived when he disappeared without a trace three years ago.
Shane Donahue, then 22, vanished on March 22, 2010. His cell phone was turned off that day and has never been used again, according to his family.
Police on Tuesday were searching Donahue’s home in the 12000 block of Aden Road and were draining a septic tank on the property.
Prince William County police spokesman Jonathan Perok said detectives have no new information to release in the case.
The day he disappeared, Donahue had been paid $5,000 for work installing ceiling tiles. His parents and police said he paid a friend, Timothy Sean Hickerson, $1,000 for helping out with the job.
Police said Hickerson, who is serving four years in a federal prison for breaking into two area gun stores, is the last person seen with Donahue and is a person of interest in the case. He has never been charged in connection with the disappearance.
