CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day and the League of Women Voters of Virginia is getting ready for early voting to begin.
The organization has launched a virtual drop box finder for those who opt to get a ballot by mail and then drop it off at their registrar’s office.
This drop box finder aims to help people know where they can find a safe and secure drop box where they can deposit their ballot and know it will be counted by the appropriate officials come Election Day.
Click here to find the ballot drop box near you.
This may be the better option for returning ballots received in the mail due to ongoing local issues with mail service.
The League of Women Voters of Virginia is also offering office hours every Tuesday through Nov. 5 for anyone who has questions about Virginia’s voting process.
The league will have representatives available from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
It says it will not be sharing information on candidates or issues during these office hours, just information on registering to vote and casting a ballot. To request assistance, email info@lwv-va.org.
Voters can check and update their registration information online here.
Early voting begins Friday for the Nov. 5 general election.
