CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The House of Representatives has recently pulled several bills, and nobody really knows what, if any, legislation will get passed in the near future.

Senator Tim Kaine says that there will be bills ready for action, but will likely be delayed till November and December.

"I do have some colleagues here that frankly don't want to have a big win on a tax bill that Joe Biden would sign in the White House before the election and so they're saying let's wait till November to do that, so I think that there a great bill that's out there that could likely happen but it'll probably happen at year-end," said Kaine.

But Congressman Bob Good says that the House has already passed five of the required 12 spending bills. He said that the Democratic-control senate has passed none.

"Democrat-controlled Senate is not even attempting apparently to fulfill their obligation to pass their 12 spending bills but the House has passed five we would like to pass even more," said Good.

Representative Abigail Spanberger and she says that it's disappointing that the House majority and Speaker Mike Johnson chose to cancel votes for next week.

Spanberger says that her expectation at this point is that they are not coming back from votes until September.

In addition, she says all of the other legislative priorities that so many of them maintain do leave them a short time period through September then into October, and before the November election

"But I'll be working hard when we come back in September to make sure that we don't see any gaps in the government funding, that we don't risk a government shutdown, and that we don't see an expiration of the current farm bill in a way that would be detrimental to producers I represent," said Spanberger.
