CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- A man from Charlottesville has been charged after he allegedly brandished a firearm at a city employee.

The Charlottesville Police Department says officers responded to a report about a brandished firearm on the Downtown Mall, near the City Hall Annex, on Monday.

The suspect, identified as Toreke Barbour, was arrested and searched. Officers found a firearm on his person.

The victim was not injured in this incident.

Barbour has been charged with brandishing a firearm, being a convicted violent felon in possession of a firearm, and concealed carry of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He is being held at the Albemarle-Charlottesville Regional Jail.
